Samantha and Timothy’s Tuscan-inspired garden wedding at Attunga Grove

“Set in a private estate in Alpine, Southern Highlands, wild florals, pops of colour, glorious food and intricate details were the order of the day”. Samantha and Timothy’s Tuscan inspired wedding at Attunga Grove was so spectacular that it showcased on Harpers Bazaar. With the couple being engaged in Amalfi, Italy, dining abode was entrusted with a brief for a Tuscan style garden wedding. The couple wanted the catering to represent modern European cuisine with an Italian influence and beverages from a custom-made bar, making this truly a one-of-a-kind wedding. Samantha and Tim didn’t want to compromise on the elements they love – great food and wine with perfectly styled florals, all wrapped in garden elegance. She Design recreated Samantha’s vision of a marquee “oozing with baroque gold detailing, an eclectic mix of chandeliers, rambling, bold floral designs” along with a centrepiece fountain. The setting as described by Samantha “was incredibly magical, like stepping into wonderland”. The set-up commenced a week prior to the day of the wedding as absolutely everything required for the day had to be sourced and delivered to the private estate including toilets, water, electricity, lighting to kitchens, furniture and everything in between. The property provided a beautiful blank canvas to create from. The venue consisted of 3 levels with entertainment, food and beverage offerings in each location to ensure that every section was even more impressive than the last. The idea was to create excitement and anticipation for guests about what was to come with each tier. Starting at the top, where the ceremony was held, guests were greeted with a string quartet, French champagne and roaming canapés including spanner crab tartlets and seared beef with truffle aioli. Guests then moved down the grand garden staircase to the middle level, which featured a carefully compiled fresh seafood station of oysters with various dressings, fresh prawns and miso, kingfish sashimi and tuna poke bowls. The middle tier also featured a spritz bar complete with Magnums of French rosé and a DJ playing cruisey tunes. Timing was key so when the sun set, guests then moved to the bottom of the garden staircase for the reception which was a sit-down affair in an open air marquee. Guests were seated at long wooden tables and enjoyed shared banquet-style dishes that started with antipasto, followed by 12-hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder, pork belly, risotto and caprese salad complimented by Sicilian red and white wines. For a sweet ending, there was a variety of roaming desserts on offer teamed with espresso martinis and of course, the beautifully decorated wedding cake. “Our caterer was Dining Abode, who is led by a hatted chef, who I could not recommend more highly. Our guests loved the food and the presentation of every dish was impeccably beautiful.” Dancing into the early hours was the finale of a truly amazing wedding that we were so honoured to be involved with.
